How to write a request letter to delete personal data as a consumer?
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. This policy directive was adopted in May 2016 because most Europeans say they want the same data protection rights across the EU and regardless of where their data is processed. It aims to make Europe fit for the digital age.
If I have given consent to the organisation in the past for processing your personal data (e.g. according to Article 6(1) or Article 9(2) GDPR), you are still able to withdraw your consent.
In addition, you can choose to object to the processing of your personal data concerning (which includes profiling), according to Article 21 GDPR.
Additionally, you need to inquire if your personal data that was disclosed to third parties, need to be informed about your deletion request, and you need to be informed me about those recipients.
