1. Opening of the Meeting and welcome
2. Review of the outcome of NCSR4.
3. Editorial reviews of IMO resolutions A.664(16) (Performance standards for enhanced group call
equipment), MSC.305(87) (Guideline on operational procedures for the broadcast of maritime safety
information concerning acts of piracy and piracy countermeasure operations) and MSC.306(87) (Revised
performance standards for enhanced group call (EGC) equipment) and A.1051(27) (IMO/WMO
Worldwide Met-Ocean Information and Warning Service – Guidance Document).
4. Review Standard Formats of message.
5. GMDSS Master Plan, including Annex 7 and Annex 8 and other issues.
6. Continue review of IMO resolutions A.705(17) and A.706(17).
7. Review/crosscheck Inmarsat SafetyNEY Users’ Handbook.
8. Update/progress report on S-124, in light of presentation of draft Modernization Plan for the GMDSS at
NCSR4.
9. Review and enhancement of MSI Training Course material.
10. Review Iridium system initial draft documentation.
11. Review of RHC National Report MSI Template.
12. Review of the draft Agenda for WWNWS9.
13. Closure of the meeting
The meeting will close no later that 1730 on Thursday 16 March.
Notes:
1. It anticipated Inmarsat will present their initial draft review of the SafetyNET Users’ Handbook, which
they would like to be thoroughly checked against the other MSI documentation.
2. It is planned to have a “No host” dinner on Tuesday / Wednesday evening to which all attendees are
invited. Details to be agreed at the start of the meeting.
