(http://www.allard.ubc.ca/academic-concessions-accommodations) and then contact Assistant Dean Kaila Mikkelsen.
Exams in Full-Year courses: If the December Exam Mark in a full-year course is less than or equal to the April Exam Mark, then the April Exam mark
equals the Overall Exam Mark. Otherwise, if the December Exam Mark is greater than the April Exam Mark, then 25% of the December Exam Mark
plus 75% of the April Exam Mark equals the Overall Exam Mark.
Re-Orientation Day . All classes cancelled for first-year students. Attendance at Re-Orientation events is
mandatory.
Public Law Assessment: Assignment 1 (50% of total mark); Assignment 2 (50% of total mark).
Torts Factum & Moot Assessment: Torts Factum & Moot Assessment: This is a pass/fail assignment, where the pass requirement is 70%. Students
will work in pairs and be marked primarily on their assigned issue, but consideration will also be given to the joint areas of the factum. Students will
receive a percentage grade for the factum, and where a student receives a mark below 70%, they must meet with their professor and then redraft the
relevant section of the factum. The student’s redrafted section is due ten days after the factum is returned to the class. If a student receives less than
70% for his or her redrafted section of the factum, 10% will be deducted from their final mark in Torts. The moot is not marked but students should note
that mooting is mandatory and completion of the moot is a graduation requirement. Students who are unable to attend their moot due to illness or wish
to apply for an accommodation should contact the Assistant Dean, Students Kaila Mikkelsen.
