Academic Action Notice for Graduate Students: Warning
You have been placed on Academic Warning as a result of earning a grade of C or F in a graduate course,
or because you were given a grade of IN (incomplete). If you have not seen your grades, go to Patriot
Web and select “Student Services and Financial Aid,” then “Student Records.
If you received a warning because you have an incomplete (IN) grade, you must deliver your completed
work to your instructor by the ninth week of the following Fall or Spring semester. Please see the
Academic Calendar
for the specific deadline date. Your instructor may have an earlier deadline. With the
exception of doctoral students, graduation candidates have only six weeks from the graduation
conferral date to resolve incomplete grades.
We urge you to consult the University Catalog and meet with your academic advisor to clarify your
status and plan the rest of your program. If you have received this letter for previous semester(s), you
may receive additional letters notifying you of further academic sanctions such as dismissal or
termination. Grade changes that result in the removal of all the grades of IN, C or F within a term may
remove the academic warning notation.
Questions about warning status should be addressed to your advisor. Best wishes for renewed success
in your academic work at George Mason.
Sincerely,
Dawn Anderson Kelley
