CLASS OF 71
TUESDAY, JULY 19th AGENDA
REUNION MEETING: THE ALUMNI GRILL & BAR - TIME: 7:00 P.M
Old Business: (See Action Item Updates posted from our 7-5-11 meeting)
New Business:
Golf Outing: Rod Iverson has agree to serve as the contact person for arranging all activities associated
with the Golf Outing.
1) Catering Service: Great Western Dining (Cowley College’s Catering Service) has been approached by
Chairman Ramirez about partnering with our Class Reunion to serve our white table cloth dinner on
Saturday Night. This should eliminate any negative talk with any possible conflict of interest on
behalf of the Alumni Grill with making money off our class. Prime Rib and Chicken Breast are to
remain the featured servings. Should classmates agree with this rationale, we need to sign a
contract with this catering firm to make this a firm agreement on price since they have been verbally
asked to cater two other class reunions on the same date. Our class however, will be given a high
priority as mentioned by Robert Rogers, (Food Service Director) as first choice since Chairman
Ramirez now serves on Cowley College Board of Trustees. Should classmates agree with this
rationale, we need to vote on this measure and lock in an agreement with this catering firm with an
understanding that we need flexibility on accommodations that may call for at least 150 meals
served (give or take), since it’s way to early to predict an exact headcount without knowing which
classmates and soul mates will be in attendance.
2) Lost Classmates: The Committee along with all classmates are encouraged to try and locate all
classmates with just-in-time updates of addresses for an invitation to our reunion. Should one of
our classmates moved to another city or state, we are asking classmates to contact classmate
parents if they are still alive and living in the Ark City area for information on the whereabouts of a
classmate.
3) Parade Seating: Cowley College indicated they do have some bleachers available for our use at the
parade. We just have to work out the logistics as to how they will be transported. The committee
needs classmate volunteers that have trailers available to transport bleachers on Friday before our
golf outing to transport bleachers from the college site to the parade along with class volunteers
willing to lift bleachers unto the trailers before and after the parade.
4) Class of 71 Video: The committee is asking for any classmate that has very little writing throughout
their 71 Yearbook to let us borrow theirs to reproduce our yearbook in its entirety unto a CD. As the
committee understands it, many classmates have lost their yearbooks and would like to purchase a
CD once it is reproduced so they can have something of value for keepsakes.
