Letter of Appreciation
Dear participants of 2012 APHPE,
On behalf of the Conference Committee of our 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on
Health Promotion and Education we are pleased to say thank you to each of you who
have attended this conference and thanks to our participants, special guests and guest
speakers. We appreciate you for taking the time and effort to be here. We also thank
you for your participation and the sharing your ideas and expertise. We certainly hope
that the conference has been all that you expected it to be and that you have taken the
opportunity to make new friends and renew old acquaintances and to have discussion
and exchange of many experiences, suggestions and opinions with decisions makers,
practitioners and researchers from all over the world.
Our objective for this conference was to build on the achievements of the 1st
APHPE Conference held last year in Japan with this year’s ultimate goal being to learn
what we can do to achieve a healthier world. To accomplish this, we established this
year’s conference agenda to enable us to discuss the many existing health problems and
issues facing us today and then to determine the necessary solutions, actions, policies
and programs to overcome these problems and issues. If we have been successful, we
will take all the things we have learned back home with us and the results will be a
healthier world by improving the health of our cities and communities, schools and
universities, hospitals and workplaces.
We have been very fortunate to have a large group of well known experts in their
respective fields participate in our conference. This group includes Professors,
Educators, Doctors, Nurses, Social workers, Directors, Researchers, Consultants,
Members of Boards and other authorities. Their involvement resulted in our very
successful forums, workshops, symposiums, oral sessions and poster sessions. We
want to thank each of them and also all the moderators who skillfully guided each of the
group meetings. The direction of the conference was established early by our first
Special address speaker, William Michael Sparks, giving The IUHPE Strategic Plan and
followed with very interesting topics by our other Special speakers. Extremely
important speeches were given by our Keynote speakers on May 5 and May 6. We
want to thank each for their participation and also the moderators in charge of those
sessions. We believe all here will agree that we have achieved many results and can all
agree that this year’s conference has been a great success.
After closing our conference, we would like to say again, on the behalf of the
Conference committee, how much we appreciate all of the co-organizers,
supporting agencies, sponsors and conference staffs who contributed the grants and
their efforts to us during the one-year conference preparation. We thank you. This
conference would not have been a success without you. As we conclude the conference,
we hope each of us will work together for health promotion. Welcome to Taiwan
again! See you in 2013 IUHPE in Thailand and the 3rd APHPE!
Yours sincerely,
Cheng-Yu Chen, Ph.D Ya Wen Huang, Ph.D.
