We’re looking for a few folks who’d like to be stewards of our cars this winter. These
dedicated volunteers, called Pod Nannies, must be willing and able to rise early to clear
snow and scrape windshields so that members can easily access the vehicles. In the
event of heavy snow, you may need to return to the vehicle later in the day. We are
looking for backup Pod Nannies as well. We’re recruiting Nannies for 17 cars, but four of them have additional needs and must be moved to a designated alternate location during winter parking bans. Nannies for these four cars will move them to their alternate parking spaces (we’ll give detailed instructions about this) before 10 pm, and then return them in the morning. What’s in it for You : Pod Nannies earn a $10 monthly driving credit during the winter months (December – March), whether or not it snows. They earn an additional $10 in driving credits for each hour worked. Back-up Pod Nannies receive the $10 in driving credits for each hour worked (with a minimum of $10 in a month when they work at least once that month but don’t reach a full hour). Plus, you’ll be one of the team bringing successful car sharing to Vermont, for which you’ll have our sincere appreciation and undying gratitude! To Volunteer If you’re inspired by our mission, want to get involved with a local non-profit, and want to help make car-sharing work in this area, send us an email Write to us, and tell us which car or cars you’re interested in helping with and why you think you’d make a dynamite nanny.

Guidelines: Cars and spaces need to be cleaned whenever there are 3 inches or more of
accumulation. During heavy snow, this may mean making a couple of trips to the
pod in a day, whenever it fits into your schedule. Volunteers will need to have
access to a sturdy snow shovel. Nannies should have the physical ability to shovel and scrape in deep snow and cold weather and be willing to rise early in the day when needed. We’re looking for folks who can commit to the job from December 1 to March
31 and who will reliably communicate with staff about availability. To earn credits, volunteers will need to log time in an online spreadsheet, so computer access is needed. We’ll explain how to do this and when...
