Mainland China has 7 legal holidays in a year:
New Year's Day, 
Spring Festival, 
Qingming Festival, 
May Day, 
Dragon Boat Festival, 
Mid-Autumn Day 
and National Day.
China official holidays also means the hard realization of so-called making up days Saturday and Sunday! It is important that you know when you or your employee have to come back at the weekend. Also be aware that you should be able to reach business in China during those make-up days!

Certain social groups also have some extra official holidays:
International women's day. 1/2 day off.
Youth day. 1/2 day off for youth between 14 to 28.
Children's day. A full day off for children below 14.
Army day: 1/2 day off for active military personnel.
