How to create a Youth and Adults Leadership Award Application Form?

The council/district presents the Learning for Life Leadership Award, which is a distinguished award for Explorers, high school participants, and adult volunteer leaders who have given exceptional leadership in Exploring or Learning for Life programs. The Leadership Award is available annually to all Explorer posts and Learning for Life high school groups.

Leadership Award for Youth and Adults

Recognition

Medallion {{Number}} suspended from a blue/red/blue ribbon and worn around the neck, and certificate ({{Number}} (for council/district recognition).

Qualifications

  • Active youth participant or adult leader for at least one year in either the Learning for Life high school program or Exploring.
  • Demonstrated exceptional dedication and gave outstanding leadership to the youth participants in either the Learning for Life high school program or Exploring.  
  • Provide at least three letters of recommendation from post or group, school, employer, civic, or community leaders with nomination form.

Council/District Selection Procedure

The Learning for Life Leadership Award selection committee is part of the program function of the local council/district. The program committee is responsible for the following:

  • Submit a letter with the application noting the council/district plan and deadline date for receiving all nominations from all Explorer posts and high school groups.
  • Review all post and group nominations and select the recipients for the council/district.
  • Design a local ceremony for presentation, and order the Leadership Award Medallion {{Number}} and Leadership Award Certificate {{Number}} from the National Distribution Center.
  • Through proper public relations, focus attention on the winner or winners and their accomplishments.

  • Leadership Positions (List all positions that the nominee has ever held and indicate the current positions with an asterisk.)
  • Recognitions (List important achievements, awards, or recognitions received by the nominee; the organizations that presented them; and the year that they were received.)
  • Statement (Tell in 100 words or fewer how the nominee has demonstrated exceptional dedication and outstanding leadership to the youth participants in either Exploring or Learning for Life programs.)
